Ingredients

1 (10 pound) prime rib roast
10 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
2 teaspoons dried thyme

Directions

Place the roast in a roasting pan with the fatty side up. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper and thyme. Spread the mixture over the fatty layer of the roast, and let the roast sit out until it is at room temperature, no longer than 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C).
Bake the roast for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, then reduce the temperature to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C), and continue roasting for an additional 60 to 75 minutes. The internal temperature of the roast should be at 145 degrees F (53 degrees C) for medium rare.
Allow the roast to rest for 10 or 15 minutes before carving so the meat can retain its juices.

Tyler Perry reportedly made an offer to buy American Airlines. They accepted. The new airline: African-American Airlines.

The Texas-based AMR Corporation, the parent company of American Airlines, announced that the company filed petitions for Chapter 11 reorganization in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, “in order to achieve a cost and debt structure that is industry competitive and thereby assure its long-term viability and ability to continue delivering a world-class travel experience for its customers.”

WWN has learned that wealthy actor-director Tyler Perry has made an attractive offer for American Airlines. The offer, said to be near $5 billion dollars, was quickly accepted by the airline.

“Mr. Perry made a bold and brilliant move… he is the smartest mogul in the country,” said a source close to American Airlines. ”No other businessman would have the guts to try to bail out the biggest airline in the United States.”

Perry, the creator of the “Madea” character and the “House of Payne” sitcom, reportedly plans to rename American Airlines – African-American Airlines. The new Perry run airline will be targeted to African-American passengers, but industry experts say that many white, asian and latino passengers will want to fly the airline, “just to be cool.”

Lil’ Kim, Kim Jong Il and the inevitable confusion after a prominent figure’s death

Rapper — not North Korean leader — Lil’ Kim. (Jim Cooper – Associated Press) North Korea’s “Dear Leader,” Kim Jong Il, is dead.

In addition to the many serious worries that arise after deaths of controversial leaders, the Internet also overflows with much more absurd questions. Questions such as: “Is Lil Kim dead??” and “Lil Kim’s dead? Is there any truth to this?”

Yes, in the wake of the passing of Kim Jong Il, some Twitter users seemingly believe that the female rapper Lil’ Kim had died instead. BuzzFeed has compiled a list of 25 such people.

For the record, she did not. But we should have expected this sort of thing.

Carlos Santana was presumed dead by many Twitter users after the death of Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi because of his pseudo-resemblance to the dictator. And celebrity death hoaxes have become an almost weekly occurrence. Facts need not apply on Twitter.

Of course, a visit to a search engine could have cleared up any confusion, as it did for this person: “I searched online. You guys are wrong. Lil Kim’s alive.”

Other Twitter users began referring to Kim Jong Il as Lil’ Kim on the social network site, perhaps because of his size or as a sign of disrespect. (Mother Jones once compared the two figures.) The Wall Street Journal points to N’Gai Croal as perhaps the start of the “RIP Lil Kim” Twitter trend. To his credit, Croal, a former Newsweek journalist, did link to a story about Kim Jong Il’s death.

Police in Atlanta, Ga. are investigating an armed robbery at former Bad Boy Records rapper Yung Joc’s studio, according to a report by WSBTV. The ambush and robbery resulted in $50,000 worth of missing equipment from the studio, which is located in a home on Boyd Avenue. Police said that the three men waited in the bushes for the caretakers of the studio to arrive around 5 a.m. this morning, and forced them into a bathroom and tied them up.

The two caretakers, a man and a woman, were able to escape to a friend’s house to call 911. They didn’t recognize the robbers, but detectives are hoping they may have left fingerprints on some of the items. Police also said the robbers planned to use the victims’ car to get away with some of the equipment, but decided to leave the vehicle at the studio.

Following the incident Yung Joc took to Twitter to comment, writing, “Just thankful they didn’t kill my ppl.”

Yung Joc signed with Polo Grounds/RCA in 2010 after being released from his dead end contract with Diddy’s Bad Boy label. He released the mixtape Ready to Fly earlier this year.
